On March, 12 and March, 13th, 2014 the 23. conference on "Rheology of Building Materials has taken place in Regensburg Germany at the University of Technology. Several presentations has been presented about measurement and control of the flow properties of mortar, fresh concrete, UHPC, SCC, steel fiber reinforced concrete and similar materials.

Laboratory Workshop, March, 13th, 2014

In the lab we presented measurement instruments, tests has been prepared, and results discussed:
- The Application of rheometers for mortar, cement paste and fresh concrete are shown in a practical application.
- Another workshop will show two other relevant techniques in the area of building materials: the Hot Disk® equipment for measuring and testing thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, and specific heat capacity.
Secondly the MC-Cal® calorimetry equipment for cement/concrete technologists. Calorimetry measures the heat generated from the early hydration reaction of cementitious materials.
- The OTH Regensburg shows the application of a sphere shaped rheometer geometry directly in the concrete mixer.
